The questions most AI vendors hope you never think to ask.
Infrastructure & Independence
Who actually owns the GPU your AI runs on?
We do. We do not use hyperscalers, cloud providers, infra broker or reseller. Your memories and inference layer runs on bare-metal hardware in a facility we operate.
Why don’t you just use AWS like everyone else?
Most AI vendors, especially the frontier ones, are co-invested into each other. We did not want to rely on an infrastructure where terms and prices can change radically through internal acquisitions or platform shifts that are passed off as "industry trends". Achiral runs on independent infrastructure with fully isolated tenants per organization so that your data and memories are always exportable, and they remain under your control—even in the unlikely event we shut down or are acquired.
What happens to my data if Achiral gets acquired?
We built Achiral for long-term independence, and we intend to remain that way. Our infrastructure, architecture, and business are designed to avoid dependence on larger platforms wherever possible. But regardless of what happens to us as a company, your organization’s data remains isolated, exportable, and under your control.
We have a BAA and a privacy contract with a frontier AI, and we are not concerned about models being trained on our data.
All we can say about that is there used to be a time when that was a reasonable position to be in.
Data & Ownership
If AI learns from my data, who owns what it learns?
You do. Chiro’s memory is built entirely from your organization’s activity and stays in your isolated tenant. We don’t pool learnings across customers, and we don’t use your data to improve a shared model. The knowledge Chiro accumulates from your operations is yours to keep.
Do the big AI providers train on my conversations?
Hard to tell, but most of them are heavily indebted (a trillion dollars?) to their investor class and have a fiduciary duty to serve those interests alone. Secondly, your data privacy agreement with one doesn't exclude the other (co-investor and infra provider) from using your data for training.
What about my privacy?
We believe that privacy of your data is non-negotiable. However, with AI open protocols like email or SMS are figuratively dead. With AI, the limitation of human stamina in harvesting emails is no longer a constraint. Achiral workspace objectively tries to solve this problem by giving you a private, isolated environment for your team to collaborate with both inside and outside your organization.
The AI Market
Why are there so many AI startups if the underlying technology is the same?
It's a new frontier with lots of opportunities for innovation and differentiation. Companies are experimenting with different approaches to solve multiple problems.
Is open-source AI actually free?
The weights may be free. Running them is not. Large models require GPU hardware, inference infrastructure, orchestration, and operational expertise to serve reliably at production scale.
What’s the difference between an AI that remembers and one that doesn’t?
Most AI services are stateless—every conversation starts from zero. Running your business on a stateless AI is a bit like Leonard Shelby in Memento—no continuity, or memory of what happened the day before. Same facts have to be rediscovered over and over again.
Philosophy & Positions
Why “Achiral”?
In chemistry, an achiral molecule has no inherent handedness—no bias, no predetermined orientation. We named the company after that property because we believe an AI system should start neutral and take its shape entirely from the organization it serves. Not from the internet, not from a general corpus, not from other customers’ data. From yours. Read the full story→
Why not just use ChatGPT or Claude?
ChatGPT and Claude are excellent frontier tools—but they aren’t your company’s memory. Think of brain as a combination of intelligence and memory. Chiro is that memory layer primarily. With Achiral, you obtain answers from your organization’s own memories and knowledge first. Chiro escalates to external provider like ChatGPT from OpenAI or Claude from Anthropic only when there is a complex query that requires external knowledge. This approach keeps costs down and avoids paying repeatedly for answers your team already knows.
Do you think AI will replace people?
No. AI will automate tasks, compress workflows, and reduce repetitive work—but organizations are still built on human judgment. Taste, trust, accountability, and decision-making remain human responsibilities. We see AI as augmentation, not replacement. Chiro exists to give teams better memory, so people spend less time retrieving information and more time exercising judgment.
Why should a small business care about AI infrastructure?
Because infrastructure determines who controls your intelligence. This matters even more for small businesses, which have to be more risk-aware and have less margin for unpredictable bills, vendor lock-in, or losing access to knowledge their teams depend on. Good AI infrastructure keeps your systems fast, private, predictable, and built to last. Most importantly, it ensures your company’s memory remains yours.
