MCP

MCP sources let an organization remember durable resources exposed by connected Model Context Protocol servers.

Create and manage MCP sources from the organization dashboard under Integrations > MCP.

When to use an MCP source

Use an MCP source when an MCP server exposes a resource that should be snapshotted into Achiral memory on a schedule.

MCP sources are best for durable context such as project documents, repositories, knowledge resources, changelogs, runbooks, datasets, or other server-provided resources.

Create a source

Select New MCP source, then provide:

• Resource: a discovered MCP resource, when available.
• Snapshot schedule: how often Achiral should refresh the resource.
• Memory event type: the event label assigned to snapshots from this source.

If the resource is not discovered automatically, open Manual resource settings and provide the MCP server ID and resource URI.

Operations

MCP sources can be paused, resumed, or archived from the MCP tab.

• Active sources are available for scheduled snapshots.
• Paused sources remain configured but do not run scheduled snapshot work.
• Archived sources are retired and should not be used for new ingestion.

Troubleshooting

If an MCP source cannot be created or refreshed:

• Confirm the MCP server is connected to the organization.
• Confirm the selected resource still exists on the server.
• Confirm the manual MCP server ID and resource URI are correct.
• Check whether the server exposes the resource as selectable.
